Goa to launch land survey after 50 years to update its records

After more than five decades, Goa is set to update its land records with a comprehensive land survey.

Purpose

The survey will identify unoccupied vacant plots and land parcels that are not claimed by anyone.

Areas Covered

Initially, the survey will focus on urban areas. The last survey was conducted in 1972.

The Goa Geospatial Knowledge Based Land Survey of Urban Habitations Rules, 2025, have been released.

The government has invited objections and suggestions from the public before finalizing the rules.

Survey officers will collect information, measure lands, and ensure rights are correctly recorded.

How It Works

A general notice will be issued to inhabitants, house owners, mortgagees, residents abroad, and other interested parties.

This survey will modernize land records and strengthen property rights in Goa.

Stay updated and ensure your property details are accurate when the survey begins.
